Hello Holy Family School Friends,

Our school year has been filled with activities. We have writing about many of our events and experiences on our webpage. Here are links to learn more about what we have done.

Students from SGS participated in the Archdiocesan Art Contents.
These were the entries we submitted.

In the United States we celebrate Earth Week in April. The school community tries to work together to keep the environment and save the earth.
Our fifth graders have been working on projects throughout the year.
Click here to see what has been happening.
And, our whole school collaborated to make Earth Week a very special time to rethink, recycle, and reuse everyday items.
Check it out!

We learn a lot at our school but we have fun as well. All of the students of SGS participated in our Walk-a-Thon. We walked, skipped, ran, and danced on a lovely day in May. We wish you were here with us. Here are our pictures.

We will continue to share our learning activities. Here is our news page and our student showcase pages to see more. .

Lent

We have had a busy last few weeks at HFS, during this time of Lent. On Shrove Tuesday, we watched the palms burn in preparation for Ash Wednesday. We used the palms left from Palm Sunday last year.
Then we used the ashes for our celebration on Ash Wednesday.

At this celebration we thought about something we could do or give up during Lent. Our Social Justice Student Leadership Team has been encouraging us to donate money to Project Compassion.
What have you been doing at St Genevieve's during Lent?

Hello from the SGS

Hello Everyone from Saint Genevieve School (SGS) in Flourtown, Pennsylvania,
We have had so much snow and a national holiday (Monday-Presidents' Day) that classes have been cancelled until Tuesday, February 16. The students will begin to add their information soon. Until then we thought that you might like to see a little of the snow that we have experienced. We have had over 70 inches (178 cm) of snow during this winter with about one half of that in just the past few days.

Global Community- Catholic Schools

Our schools are part of a worldwide community of people with similar beliefs and values. There are lots of things that would be the same in our schools.....but there would also be a lot of differences.

In the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Catholic Schools Week is celebrated between the dates 1st - 5th February. In the Parramatta Diocese, Catholic Schools week is celebrated between 15th-19th March. This is probably not the only difference between our schools. What are some of the differences you can see from the pictures we have posted, showing what is outside the windows of our classroom in Luddenhm NSW, Australia?

This is the view of our playground- from the front windows/doors of our classroom

This is the view out the back windows- the land next to our ovals & neighbour's land. There are cows that live on this land and you can see out west to the Blue Mountains.

What do you see outside your classroom windows??

Welcome to our combined blog !

Hi Everyone!
This is our combined blog site where we can connect, even though we are in different schools and different countries! It will be a wonderful way for us to learn about each other and work as global partners in our learning.
