Our schools are part of a worldwide community of people with similar beliefs and values. There are lots of things that would be the same in our schools.....but there would also be a lot of differences.
In the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Catholic Schools Week is celebrated between the dates 1st - 5th February. In the Parramatta Diocese, Catholic Schools week is celebrated between 15th-19th March. This is probably not the only difference between our schools. What are some of the differences you can see from the pictures we have posted, showing what is outside the windows of our classroom in Luddenhm NSW, Australia?
This is the view of our playground- from the front windows/doors of our classroom
What do you see outside your classroom windows??

Hi everyone, we have had constant rain here over the last days(that's why the pictures were hazy)- I know in Philadelphia there has been a lot of snow. Our weather has been hot and humid though...there's a difference already I can see between us!
The First Grade of SGS would like to know how hot is it.
Is your classroom next to a farm?
Do you have a cafeteria?
We have two teachers in first grade. How many do you have? How many children are in the class. We have 28. What is the name of your school?
We have had hot weather here -up to 37 degrees. It has been very humid
The name of our school is Holy Family Primary. In Grade 1 we have two classes and two teachers. We sometimes have lessons with Year 2. That's when we are called Stage 1. We have our technology lessons together.
Our school has farms all around. We looked up our school and your school on Google Earth. There was lots of green around our school! We saw the street where your school was. There were lots of buildings around. Are you in the middle of the town?
Yes, we are in the middle of the town of Flourtown. There are a lot of cars moving up and down the street. We have a church near our school. We are learning to add three numbers together in math. We are also learning to add numbers that are doubles like 7 + 7= 14.What are you learning in math? We are learning about animals in Pennsylvania and researching what they do. What kind of animals do you have near you? We have red tailed hawks, butterflies, red fox, squirrels, and deer.
How much rain do you get in a year?
When it is Saint Patrick's day, we are going to make a trap for the leprechauns.
We hope to hear from you soon.
